Privacy Level of Team Pages

Team Coordinators assign the level of privacy for particular Team pages. Because Teams have different needs and different preferences for privacy, there are three two levels of privacy from which to choose:

  • Open - Team page can be visited by anyone who knows the URL, and can be accessed through the "Find Your Friend" feature. Visitors will not be required to register before viewing the Team page. Visitors will, however, be required to register before they may post guestbook entries, post blog comments, or sign up to help.
  • Password Required - Team page can only be visited by persons who have received an authorized password. This password is created and distributed by the Team Coordinator. Visitors are required to register before visiting the site.

We have no way of knowing and will not be responsible or liable if the individual accessing a Team page obtained the web site address or other settings through improper means. Every member of a Team (coordinator, family, friends and all site visitors) is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the web site address and any Team Coordinator's or visitor's username/password. The Team Coordinator may change the Privacy Level and any associated features of the Team page at any time.

Privacy of Children

We do not market to and does not knowingly collect any Personal Information from or about a child under the age of 13 without the consent of the child’s parent or legal guardian. If we discover that we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13 years of age, we will promptly take all reasonable measures to delete that data from our systems.

The Site may contain links to other sites on the Internet that are owned and operated by third parties. We are not responsible for the collection or use of your Personal or Anonymous Information at any third party sites. Therefore, we disclaim any liability for any third party's use of your Personal or Anonymous Information obtained through using the third party web site.

Security

Unfortunately, no data transmitted over or accessible through the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we attempt to protect all Personal Information and Anonymous Information, we cannot ensure or warrant that Personal Information and Anonymous Information will be completely secure from misappropriation by hackers or from other nefarious or criminal activities, or in the event of a failure of computer hardware, software, or a telecommunications network. WhatFriendsDo will notify you in the event we become aware of a security breach involving your personally identifiable information (as defined by the applicable state and federal laws) stored by or for us on the Site. By disclosing your email address to us for any reason, you expressly consent to receive electronic notice from us in the event of such a security breach.
